Bubbleboy's Automated Grocery List โ built from real need, kept free on purpose.
"Meal planning shouldn't be a second job. We built BAGL so you can spend less time thinking about groceries and more time enjoying your meals."
BAGL was born out of a celiac disease diagnosis. Overnight, grocery shopping went from one simple store trip to a multi-store puzzle. Gluten-free bread from one store, safe pasta from another, specialty flour from a third โ suddenly every week required a spreadsheet just to figure out where to go and what to buy.
On top of that, eating at home became the default. Restaurants felt risky, and cooking from scratch meant more meals to plan, more ingredients to track, and more trips to make. The mental load was exhausting.
So we built a tool to handle it. BAGL started as a personal project โ a way to plan meals for the week, automatically generate grocery lists, and know exactly which stores to hit for which items. No more standing in the kitchen on Sunday night wondering what to cook. No more forgetting that one ingredient and making an extra trip.
On the surface, BAGL is simple: plan your meals, and it builds your grocery list. But underneath, it's quietly doing a lot of work for you:
The goal is to reduce the cognitive overhead of feeding yourself (and your household) without dumbing things down. BAGL is as simple as "pick meals, get a list" for casual use, but powerful enough for detailed pantry management and cost tracking when you want it.
We believe meal planning tools shouldn't cost a monthly subscription. Grocery shopping is already expensive โ the tool you use to manage it shouldn't add to the bill.
BAGL has no subscription fees, no premium tier, and no paywalled features. Every feature is available to everyone. We keep the app running through small affiliate commissions when you click through to grocery store websites โ you pay the same price either way.
BAGL has no backend. No servers, no databases, no accounts stored in the cloud. This isn't a limitation โ it's a deliberate choice.
Your meal plans, your pantry, your grocery lists โ that's personal information. You shouldn't have to wonder whether someone's mining your eating habits for data or whether a server breach could expose what's in your fridge.
Everything is stored in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB). If you want a cloud backup, you can optionally connect your own Google Drive โ your data goes directly into your Drive account, in a file only you can see. We never touch it.
This also means BAGL works offline. Once loaded, you can plan meals and check your grocery list without an internet connection โ perfect for the store.
Add BAGL to your home screen for a full-screen, app-like experience โ no app store needed.
